TAAS
is based at New Farm Neighbourhood Centre. The service provides free
advice, advocacy and housing referral services to tenants. It is a tenant
only service funded predominantly through the interest on tenants' bonds
held by the Residential Tenancies Authority.
Funding is administered
by the Department of Housing.
The service provides free advice, advocacy and housing referral services
to tenants. It assists people with bond loan information, applying for public
and community housing, conciliation and Small Claims Tribunal matters. The
service provides free assess to the phone, daily papers, the internet to assist in your
accommodation searches and education (talks, articles, etc.) on tenancy law
for tenants.
Funding
TAAS has funding to provide residents of boarding houses, hostels and
student accommodation with a specialised service. TAAS also assists
in helping residents where there is a boarding house or hostel closure.
TAAS staff coordinate Peer Leadership Sessions for people who are living
in boarding houses and hostels residents, along with people who support
those living in boarding houses and hostels. Please contact TAAS
for information on the next Peer Leadership Session. |

TAAS will also hosting meals for people predominantly living in boarding
houses. These meals are a great way for people living in boarding houses
and hostels to meet one another and have a chat to government and non
government agencies who work in the sector. If you would like more
