A ... Bring in daylight saving and look to improve hospitals

A ... Have more testing and make first offence a higher penalty

A ... Of course I was good! competition tennis, netball, swimming bit of an all rounder.

A ... Being close to family and friends and living in Brisbane

A Gardener at Roma street parklands and roving ambassador for visitors information centre in the city mall

Q ... If you had a time machine where would you go
A ... I don't think I would like to live in any other time in history because I am so happy where I am at the moment and any other historical time I can access through books.

Become a Volunteer


Centre Volunteers perform a variety of jobs and are a big part of what makes the Centre tick. Volunteers staff reception and do a myriad of other tasks which help to keep the Centre doors open! If you would like to volunteer please contact the Centre.

 

The Centre holds volunteer insurance which covers people who are signed on as volunteers. Other people are not covered by our insurance when helping out at Centre events unless you become a member.


Volunteers perform a variety of tasks at the Centre:
 

Reception duties

Event Planning (such as CAN Awards and Politics in the Pub)

Gardening

Shopping

Computer support

Postering and notice board maintenance

Welcome Pack production

Convening groups

Promotions

Food preparation

Website Administration

Submission Writing

 


Volunteers' Meeting and Lunch


Volunteers' Meetings are the place to be for all Centre Volunteers to catch up on vital information and conjure up new ideas, and get regular training. The awesome lunch to follow is a social occasion and chance to wind down with your colleagues! Meetings in 2008 are held on the first Thursday of each month: 

First Thursday of the month  10.30am to 11.30am with a light lunch.
